Tara joined AMCC in 2017 as our Hospital Manager. Prior to joining AMCC, Tara has developed quite the extensive experience from a variety of roles within the veterinary profession. In addition to her professional management training, she also has unique training in exotic animal care. At home, she lives with her Shih-poo Bash, her Irish Wolfhound Archer, and her grumpy cat Sebastian. If you come to visit us at AMCC, Archer is hard to miss! Tara is the leader of our team and she exemplifies the mantra of our hospital, “treat everyone’s pets as if they were your own”.
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Chelsey joined the AMCC team in 2012, but has been in the veterinary medicine field since 1997. Chelsey studied biology at both VCU and the University of Kentucky, before completing her Associate Degree of Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College in 2014. Chelsey is the proud pet parent to her 2 dogs (Boo and Bubba), her cat (Luna), her ball python snake (Sly) and her leopard gecko (Gieco). As a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Virginia, she excels in all areas of veterinary medicine, but her top interests include dentistry, surgery and client education. In her own words, AMCC is a great veterinary hospital because it “feels like home”.
Kourtney is originally from Pennsylvania, but relocated to the tidewater area with her husband, who we are proud to have serving as a member of the United States Air Force. Kourtney is the proud pet parent to a 24-year old Morgan/Quarter Horse cross named Levi and an energetic corgi-mix named Reagan. Kourtney joined the AMCC team in 2015 and is in the process of completing the Licensed Veterinary Technician program from Northern Virginia Community College. Prior to her LVT studies, she obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Equestrian Studies. Outside of work, Kourtney is often found riding her horse, exploring the trails. If you’ve ever interacted with Kourtney while at AMCC, you will quickly realize she treats all of our patients like family, striving to always provide the best possible care.
Siedah joined the AMCC team in 2016, but has spent extensive time in both emergency and general practice veterinary medicine. She is originally from the Hampton Roads region and is the proud pet parent to her dog, Chica, and cat, Peaches. We are proud to announce that Siedah will be graduating from the Northern Virginia Community College’s Veterinary Technician program in May of 2018. Siedah’s passion starts with simple pleasure of helping any animal in need. In her own words, Siedah thinks AMCC is great because it is “very family oriented”.
Selena joined AMCC in 2014 and has been an integral member of the team since day one. Selena has been trained in every area within the hospital. She is currently working towards completion of her Veterinary Technician degree. Her passion for animals doesn’t stop at the end of her work shift, as she has 6 of her own pets at home. A Great Pyrenes names Vladimir, a Lhasa Apso named Jada, 2 cats named Bronya and Munchkin, and 2 ferrets names Bandit and Opossum. If you’ve been to AMCC before, there’s no doubt you’ve seen Selena’s kind and familiar face.
